Habilidades sociales y autoestima en estudiantes del nivel secundario de una institución educativa estatal de Trujillo

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo con objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre las habilidades sociales y autoestima en alumnos del nivel secundario de una institución educativa estatal de Trujillo. Es de tipo sustantivo, con un diseño descriptivo correlacional. La muestra fue conformada por 150 estudiantes. Se evaluó mediante la aplicación de dos instrumentos: La Escala de Habilidades Sociales (EHSA) y el Cuestionario de autoestima de Rosenberg (EAR). Obteniendo como resultado según la correlación r de Pearson una relación directa, muy significativa (p<.01) y de grado fuerte entre las habilidades sociales y la autoestima en los estudiantes evaluados. Por lo que se acepta la hipótesis general ya que existe una correlación altamente significativa (p<=0.01) entre las variables. Concluyendo que en esta población de estudiantes las habilidades sociales y la autoestima son parte del comportamiento habitual dentro del medio en que se desenvuelven.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship that exists between social skills and self-esteem in secondary school students of a state educational institution in Trujillo. It is of a substantive type, with a descriptive correlational design. The sample was made up of 150 students. It was evaluated through the application of two instruments: The Social Skills Scale (EHSA) and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire (EAR). Obtaining as a result, according to Pearson's r correlation, a direct, highly significant (p<.01) and strong relationship between social skills and self-esteem in the students evaluated. Therefore, the general hypothesis is accepted since there is a highly significant correlation (p<=0.01) between the variables. Concluding that in this population of students, social skills and self-esteem are part of the usual behavior within the environment in which they operate
