Abstract: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar las diferencias en el cansancio
emocional de los estudiantes de psicología de una universidad de privada de Trujillo, según género.
El estudio es de tipo sustantivo, con diseño comparativo, y se trabajó con una muestra de 134
estudiantes de género masculino y femenino, con edades entre los 21 a 32 años, pertenecientes al
noveno y décimo ciclo de la carrera de psicología de una universidad privada de Trujillo, inscritos
en el ciclo académico 2021-02, quienes fueron evaluados con la Escala de Cansancio Emocional
(ECE) de Ramos et al. (2005) la cual fue analizada previamente en un estudio piloto para
corroborar la validez y confiabilidad del instrumento, utilizando la correlación ítem – test, donde
los ítems alcanzaron valores que oscilaron entre .622 y .860, y el coeficiente alfa de Cronbach, el
cual alcanzó un valor de .948 correspondiente a una excelente confiabilidad. En los resultados
obtenidos se pudo evidenciar que, respecto a los niveles de cansancio emocional, el 46.2% de los
estudiantes de género masculino poseen un nivel bajo, asimismo, el 53.7% de las estudiantes de
género femenino poseen un grado medio, por otro lado, el estadístico U de Mann- Whitney
identificó que no existen diferencias significativas (p>0.05) de cansancio emocional en los
estudiantes de psicología de una universidad privada de Trujillo, según género
The objective of this research was to determine the differences in the emotional exhaustion of psychology students from a private university in Trujillo, between gender. The study is a substantive type, with comparative design, and the sample were 134 male and female students, aged between 21 and 32 years, belonging to the ninth and tenth grade of psychology degree at a private university from Trujillo, enrolled in the 2021-02 semester, they were evaluated with the Emotional Exhaustion Scale (ECE) developed by Ramos et al. (2005), which was previously analyzed in a pilot study to corroborate the validity and reliability of the instrument, using the item-test correlation, where the items reached values between .622 and .860, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient, the which reached a value of .948 corresponding to excellent reliability. In the results obtained, it was showed that, regarding the levels of emotional exhaustion, 46.2% of the male students have a low level, likewise, 53.7% of the female students have a medium level, on the other hand, the Mann-Whitney U statistic identified that there were no significant differences (p>0.05) in emotional exhaustion in psychology students at a private university in Trujillo, between gender
