Given the importance that represents the study of hydraulic problems and behavior of flows to hydraulic structures in channels. This research work makes the flow measurement, the analysis of the behavior of specific energy and the classification of the types of flows, for the various conditions that can occur in different types of water measurement structures. It is by such that first is analyzed experimentally the operation that has these equipment, aided by an artificial channel with variable slope, located in the Hydraulic Laboratory of the Antenor Orrego Private University, using a flow range between 4.26 lt/s to 22.6 lt/s. The experimental equipment that was constructed was the following: for the measurement of flows, we considered a Cipolletti Weir, a thin wall Orifice and a Parshall Flume; for the specific energy study, a Venturi Flume and a Broad Crested Weir was constructed and for the study of flow types was manufactured a Crump Weir. Based on the existing theoretical formulation and the experimental results obtained, a method is formulated to find the calibration equations of the built equipment. They also compare the results between both methods, to obtain a better criterion on which to use. The following equations for the flow measurement for each equipment are shown below: - Cipolletti Weir : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=0.5662∗𝐻1.4077 - Orifice : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=1.9856∗𝐻0.5722 - Parshall Flume : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=0.2261 𝐻𝑎1.5393 - Venturi Flume : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=0.2065 𝐻𝑜1.5064 - Broad Crested Weir : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=0.5236 𝐻1.461 - Crump Weir : 𝑄𝑔𝑒𝑛=0.4266 ℎ1.6643 Where: the values of H, Ha, Ho and h, are the discharge head measured at the beginning of each equipment. This equation showed good agreement with the measured values of discharge. In addition, the analysis of the critical conditions presented by the venturi flume was performed in the narrower section, where the critical depth and minimum energy conditions are shown, in the same way with the Broad crested weir, which shows a proximity of 15 cm from the start of the weir, these conditions. With the Crump landfill, profiles M1, C1 and S1 were visualized according to how the slope of the channel was increasing, and the results were compared with the existing theoretical methods. Finally, experimental didactic guides were developed based on the analyzes carried out, which will help students to better understand the hydraulic phenomena in a didactic way; and making use of devices that can help improve your work experience.
