Our country experiences almost three continuous decades of economic growth, thanks to sound economic policies and the good performance of international markets. In this context, investments have been extended to all economic fields, both in the public and private sectors. Traditional and non-traditional sectors have been strengthened by increasing their productive capacity and competitiveness in the local market, as well in the global one. The outlook for the Piura region is no different, as it is the main node of interconnection between the North and Northeast coast of the country. A large load of supplies, products and people travel annually between these locations, through the North Interoceanic Highway, and exporting through the modernized ports of Paita and Talara. The agribusiness, fisheries and mining sectors stand out as the main drivers of the Piurana economy. The artisanal industry occupies a very important place in the economy of the Piura region, as the Catacaos district stands as the most important artisan center of the Peruvian north coast, where every year thousands of Peruvians are formalized and inserted in this activity. It is therefore imperative to preserve and disseminate artistic and cultural values, to preserve identity, roots and encouragement in the local population. All this growth and economic development goes hand in hand with the development of new infrastructure in the health, education, commerce and housing sectors; this generates changes in habitability conditions, which is reflected in the improvement of socioeconomic indicators. Many institutions are committed to preserving and exploiting these values through investments in new infrastructure and development of cultural spaces. Therefore, this project encompasses the highlights of the Catalan community, such as its crafts and ancient processes of creation, also promoting the artistic ideals of cultural expression in the population.
