Clima social escolar y agresividad en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de Trujillo

Abstract

El estudio correlacional realizado buscó identificar la relación entre el clima social escolar y la agresividad en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de Trujillo. Para ello se trabajó con una población constituida por 423 estudiantes de ambos sexos, cuyas edades estaban entre 12 a 17 años y pertenecían a los cinco grados de nivel secundario, quedando elegidos 202 estudiantes para que integran la muestra. Para el recojo de resultados se utilizaron la Escala de Clima Social Escolar (CES) de Moss et. al. (1987) y el Cuestionario de Agresividad (AQ) de Buss y Perry (1992). Los resultados reportan correlación estadísticamente significativa, negativa y de magnitud grande entre las variables de estudio (r = -.539; p < .01); asimismo, se halló correlaciones muy significativas, negativas y parciales entre las dimensiones de ambas variables. También se encontró que el nivel predominante de Clima Social Escolar es medio, en cuanto al nivel de Agresividad se verificó que el nivel predominante es bajo. Se concluye que un adecuado clima social escolar influye favorablemente en la reducción de conductas agresivas en los estudiantes.

The correlational study aimed to identify the relationship between school social climate and aggressiveness in high school students from a public educational institution in Trujillo. To do this, we worked with a population made up of 423 students of both sexes, whose ages ranges from 12 to 17 years old and belonged to the five grades of secondary level, with 2020 students were chosen to make up the sample. For the collection of results, the School Social Climate Scale (CES) of Moss et. al. (1987) and the Aggression Questionare (AQ) by Buss and Perry (1992). The results report statistically significant, negative and large correlation between the study variables (r = -.539; p < .01); likewise, very significant, negative and partial correlations were found between the dimensions of both variables. It was also found that the predominant level of School Social Climate is medium, as for the level of Aggression it was verified that the predominant level is low. It is concluded that an adequate school social climate favorably influences the reduction of aggressive behaviors in students.
