Emotional intelligence and study habits are important for the life of the individual, since such intelligence can correctly manage emotions, whether they are reinforced by experiences or from new events that appear in daily life; this will induce people to feel better about themselves and others. On the other hand, study habits will be a great support to improve academically. The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between the variable’s emotional intelligence and study habits in high school students of a public school in Piura. The substantive, non-experimental, correlational research had a population of high school students from a public school in Piura, to whom two types of instruments were applied to measure each variable, the BarOn ICE and the CASM-85. The results indicate that there is no relationship between these variables, concluding that high levels of emotional intelligence do not indicate the management of correct study habits
