To determine if anosmia and ageusia are early predictors for COVID-19 in patients at Hospital Santa Rosa in 2020. Methodology: Analytical, observational study and diagnostic tests. To obtain data, the medical records of patients who have molecular and/or antigenic tests for the diagnosis of COVID-19 at the Hospital will be used. In the statistics, the Chi Square will be used and the value of p less than 5% (p<0.05) will be applied for significance. The cut-off point will be determined to find the sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and diagnostic accuracy, the latter evaluated using the ROC curve graph. Results: 134 hospitalized patients from the Santa Rosa Hospital were included during 2020, of which 58.2% had a diagnosis confirmed by molecular or antigenic testing and the average age was 51.6 years. A diagnostic accuracy of 0.63 was found for anosmia; 0.62 for ageusia and 0.71 for both symptoms. Conclusion: Anosmia and ageusia as associated symptoms can be considered as early predictors for the diagnosis of COVID 19.
