The Moche culture, also known as the Mochica culture, arose on the northern coast of Peru and in the Moche river valley between the 1st and 7th centuries AD. This is a civilization that has existed for centuries. Moche craftsmanship is seen as one of the most amazing and extraordinary, for its glorious workmanship. Moche artisans were essentially motivated and the encounters of everyday existence to make astonishing masterpieces of clay production, as well as great ornaments of valuable metals such as gold, silver and bronze. In addition, they exhibited objects for rituals and services, as well as materials and drawings in shells and stones. Currently according to reports obtained from TRADE MAP-(Trade Statistics, for the international development of enterprises) in 2019 the list of importing markets for a ceramic product exported by Peru, is very broad market internationally for handicraft products exported by Peru, being the countries that participate more in the value of exports USA, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, (Between 20%-50% of exports of the reporting country). Therefore, there is a great demand for these handmade products, however, due to the lack of competitiveness and training of artisans in business issues and the lack of marketing techniques hinder their production. Without leaving aside tourism, which has been hit in 2020 as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic. The sector's economy is being affected in the same way, since by not selling their products at the ““FIXED““ price, these artisans and associations are forced to outsource or worse, sell their products wholesale, at relatively low prices, which discrepancies with the quality of the product delivered. “CENTRO DE INNOVACIÓN TECNOLÓGICA DE ARTESANÍA Y TURISMO DE LAS CADENAS ARTESANALES CERÁMICA, CESTERÍA Y CUERO” EN EL DISTRITO DE MOCHE 4 The CITE of Crafts and tourism of the ceramic, leather and basketry handicraft chains will emphasize comprehensive training during the production processes. It is a technological innovation center, aimed at artisans specialized in the ceramic, basketry and leather craft lines, additional people working in these craft workshops, tourists and students of the district of Moche.
