Nivel de calidad del periodismo de investigación en los diarios La Industria y Correo de Trujillo, 2019

Abstract

La presente investigación se propuso identificar el nivel de calidad de los informes del periodismo de investigación en los diarios La Industria y Correo de Trujillo, 2019. Para ello se estableció el nivel de calidad en el manejo de fuentes de información, el contraste de la información, la presentación de pruebas y evidencias, el impacto de la investigación y el uso de herramientas de investigación. Se trabajó con una población de 26 informes de La Industria y 30 de Correo que cumplen con los requisitos del periodismo de investigación; se tomó para la muestra el 50% de los ejemplares de cada diario, es decir, 13 de La Industria y 15 de Correo. Como instrumento se utilizó una hoja de registro de información, elaborada por el autor, tomando en cuenta los indicadores, y un baremo validado por dos periodistas expertos. Los resultados de la investigación revelan que el nivel de calidad de los informes del periodismo de investigación en los diarios La Industria y Correo de Trujillo, 2019, es bajo. Las principales conclusiones son: 1) El nivel de calidad en el manejo de fuentes de información es regular. 2) Bajo es el nivel de calidad en cuanto al contraste de la información: La Industria, en la mayoría de informes, no cuenta con la versión del investigado. En Correo, en cambio, hay más publicaciones con la defensa del investigado. 3) La Industria y Correo muestran escasas pruebas y evidencias. 4) Pese a que las investigaciones son importantes, el impacto es bajo. 5) En el uso de herramientas de investigación, ambos medios de comunicación demuestran un nivel de calidad deficiente

This research is set out to identify the quality level of investigative journalism reporting in the newspapers La Industria and Correo from Trujillo, 2019. For this, the quality level in the management of information sources, the contrast of information, the presentation of tests and evidence, the impact of the investigation and the use of investigation tools were established. We worked with a population of 26 reports from La Industria and 30 from Correo that meet the requirements of investigative journalism; 50% of the copies of each newspaper were taken for the sample, that is, 13 from La Industria and 15 from Correo. As an instrument, an information record sheet was used, prepared by the author, taking into account the indicators, and a scale validated by two expert journalists. The results of the investigation reveal that the quality level of investigative journalism reporting in the newspapers La Industria and Correo from Trujillo, 2019, is low. The main conclusions are: 1) The quality level in the management of information sources is regular. 2) The quality level is low regarding the contrast of the information: La Industria, in the majority of reports, does not have the version of those investigated. In Correo, on the other hand, there are more publications with the defense of those investigated. 3) La Industria and Correo show little proof and evidence. 4) Although the investigations are important, the impact is low. 5) In the use of research tools, both media show a poor quality level
