This research thesis details the structural analysis of an educational institution such as the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the National University of San Agustín, having as its main objective to provide practical solutions that allow to improve the structural deficiencies that are presented using the method of the cladding of columns to reinforce the structure, since, according to the seismic regulations of Peru, it is classified as an essential building and should have the capacity to fully resist an earthquake of great magnitude. In the process of the investigation, field inspections and technical tests were carried out to evaluate the seismic behavior of the structure in order to propose the appropriate reinforcement to guarantee its operation during and after an eventual earthquake. The data obtained are resolved and developed through the ETABS modeling program, then determining the vulnerability of columns and beams and their exposure to damage due to the presence of a severe earthquake. To ensure a better performance of the structures, it was considered more convenient to apply a nonlinear static analysis, since with this method the prediction and verification of the behavior in the inelastic range can be carried out with the structure already designed, and in this way, model and determine results long before an earthquake. Finally, after having carried out the corresponding analyzes and studies, it was possible to demonstrate that the structure has poor seismic behavior before being reinforced. Then, it was determined that the structure, due to the proposed reinforcement based on the cladding of columns, presents a satisfactory structural behavior, superior to the other case of the structure without reinforcement
