To establish if there is an association between preventive behavior against COVID-19 and the presence of comorbidities in workers of the Jewelry Technological Innovation Center Catacaos during the year 2020. Methodology: Retrospective cross-sectional analytical observational study, primary data collection in the context of a health emergency, workers were interviewed through virtual questionnaires or phone calls, where all members of the institution were approached, being the studied population of 442 workers. Results: The majority are male, there is a greater presence in the 30 to 49 age groups, secondary education predominates; most are engaged in jewelry, and earn between 2000 and 3000 soles. The most frequent comorbidity was obesity (69.1%), diabetes mellitus 2 (56.5%), hypertension (38.7%), asthma (6.3%) and stage 5 CKD or dialysis (2.6%). Treatment compliance was 60% of patients with stage 5 CKD or dialysis, 48.6% with HTN, type 2 diabetics with 47.2% and asthma with 41.7%. According to the level of compliance with preventive behaviors, only 31% of the workers show a high level of compliance and those that are best complied with are: keeping one meter of distance with 65.4%, using masks when going out with 62.9%, using 70° alcohols to disinfect surfaces and hand with 52.1%, washing hands before eating with soap and water with 62%. COVID-19 affected only 11.3% of workers. Conclusion: The presence of comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus 2 and obesity were significantly (P<0.05) related to compliance with preventive behaviors.
