Objective: To study the prevalence of anxiety and Burnout Syndrome in Resident Physicians according to working hours of the José Cayetano Heredia Piura Hospital III 2018. Methodology: Census-type study of the resident physicians of the José Cayetano Heredia Piura III Hospital using the HAD and Scale tests BSI to determine anxiety levels and Sd. From Burnout according to working hours d anonymously in the year 2018. Results: There was a total participation of 29 residents of which 68.96% (20) were male, the specialties with the highest number of residents found were General Surgery; Likewise, 14 resident doctors (48.30%) showed a workload between approximately 70-100 hours per week. We found significance for Burnout factors such as: Male Sex (p = 0.048), leading the specialty of Internal Medicine (p = 0.032) or Neurosurgery (p = 0.041); also be single (a) (p = 0.02) and as for the years of study in the residence belong to the second year (p <0.001) as well as the fifth year (p = 0.04). Conclusion: There is presence of Anxiety and Burnout in Resident Doctors of Hospital III-1 José Cayetano Heredia Piura as well as its factors for its appearance are in the case of Anxiety: Female sex, take specialties such as Internal Medicine or Neurosurgery
