The present study is of a descriptive type with a quasi-experimental cross-sectional design, it was carried out with the objective of determining the effectiveness of music therapy in stress level in nurses who cared for people with COVID-19 in peripheral health establishments of Trujillo, 2022. The population consisted of 47 nurses, divided into two groups, the experimental group consisting of 30 participants and the control group of 17, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14) was applied to the participants as a data collection instrument. The results obtained by applying the Perceived Stress Scale in two moments show that the nurses in the experimental group, before the application of the workshop, often presented stress in 80% and very often in 20%; After the workshop, 80% reported never having stress and 20% from time to time; On the other hand, the control group reported presenting stress often in 88% and 12% very often; In the second observation, without having received any stimulus from the music therapy workshop, 71% reported perceiving stress often and 29% very often. After the music therapy workshop, the effectiveness of music therapy was evidenced to reduce the stress level of the nurses who cared for people with COVID-19, being the hypothesis docimassia, which used the Wilcoxon Rank Test to evaluate the effectiveness of the music therapy. music therapy in the level of stress in the experimental group, according to the results shown, the value p=0.000< 0.05, being highly significant; On the other hand, in the control group, the value p=0.184>0.05, not presenting a significant statistical relationship.
