Objective: To know the factors associated with adequate knowledge about Biosafety in human medicine interns at Antenor Orrego Private University. Materials and Methods: The design is observational, cross-sectional-analytical. Convenience sampling was performed. They were selection criteria: Medical interns with regular enrollment in the 2020-2 semester, of legal age, who voluntarily participated and completed the entire survey. A link with informed consent and validated questionnaire on biosafety knowledge consisting of 20 questions was used. The cut-off point for adequate Knowledge will be greater than 10 correct questions. In relation to the analytical statistics, Poisson regression with robust variances was used to calculate the association measure called Prevalence Ratio (RP) with a 95% confidence interval and significant p<0.05. The statistical program Stata ver.16 was used. Outcomes: The median age has greater adequate knowledge (P < 0.001), having a upper third at University and exposure prior to an occupational accident is associated with adequate knowledge in biosafety, p-value < 0.05. However, sex and having taken complementary courses in biosafety is not associated with adequate knowledge in biosafety, p-values > 0.05 Conclusions: age, having an upper third at university and previous exposure to a work accident are associated with adequate knowledge in biosafety. On the contrary, sex and having taken complementary courses in biosafety is NOT associated with adequate knowledge in biosafety.
