The following research contemplates a contextual analysis and situational diagnosis of the coverage of the mental health service and its current infrastructure in the country, culminating in an architectural proposal that seeks to provide a viable solution to the identified problem that currently affects thousands of people with mental disorders and that under a stigmatizing look, hinders their reintegration into society. The project is part of the Law No 29889 and the update of the General Health Law No. 26842, which proposes the creation of mental health establishments under a community approach, as well as the recognition of the importance of mental health for the optimal development of the Peruvian society The project involves within its objectives, the construction of a new architectural model, rethinking the misconception about the mentally ill and the spaces they inhabit, all under an approach based on the needs of the patient, outpatientcommunity health networks and sustainability. The research is structured in chapters, which describe the theoretical framework, methodology, programmatic research, location and regulatory parameters necessary to finally conclude the design of the architectural project. In this, we sought to redefine the role of psychiatric architectural institutions, which is not only limited to the physical and functional needs of its users, but also involves an analysis of perception, expression and emotion through architecture; thus contributing not only to the solution of the health problem existing in the local context, but also to the promotion of a more inclusive society with therapeutic spaces for its citizens.
