Objective: To determine the factors predictors for epilepsy in children aged 5 to 10 years in a hospital in Piura. Materials and methods: Study of types of cases and controls; carried out at Hospital III José Cayetano Heredia, Piura in the year 2022. The outcome variable will be epilepsy, while the exposure variables will be the factors: demographic, background, and clinical. The analysis will be carried out in STATA v.16, a logistic regression analysis was carried out in order to determine the predictive factors and find the associated Odds Ratios. Results: The factors significantly associated with epilepsy were: area of residence (OR 0.328), family history of epilepsy (OR 6.354), history of low birth weight (OR 4.408), brain trauma (OR 5.206), low Apgar score (OR 5.699) and prematurity of infants (OR 3.865). Conclusions: Six factors were found associated with epilepsy in children aged 5 to 10 years from a hospital in Piura, a sociodemographic factor, a family history factor and four pathological history factors
