This research project arises as a need to adapt to global project management standards, as well as the continuous need to improve standards by making constructive processes more efficient, collaborative and interdisciplinary. The main objective of this thesis project is to show the feasibility of using BIM Technology in the construction of power plants, model generation and information management in order to implement the technology based on a simple and easy to apply methodology. To support the research, the information was collected by applying BIM technology, generating the models and managing the information applied to the works and / or components of the Carhuac hydroelectric power plant. In this way we have made a qualitative analysis of the use of technology, identifying problems, conflicts and interference, in the same way the level of impact of each problem, the area where most problems occurred, probability of occurrence. Subsequently, the problems that generated the greatest impact with those with the highest probability of occurrence were determined, generating greater risk. The quantitative analysis of the information shows the problems given the geographical location, extension of the work area, distribution of its components and complexity of the hydroelectric power plant. On the other hand, with the development of this research we want to promote the interest of other researches in order to define the platform that allows to change the paradigm with respect to current methods and give way to more collaborative management systems, BIM technology.
