In 2010, with the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Peru and China, an increase in trade with the Asian country is generated, making it currently the main destination of Peruvian exports and largest trading partner, with 23.5% participation. Specifically, non-traditional exports showed a trend with favorable balances that increased by 55.7% since the implementation of the treaty. In this area, the agroindustrial sector has been the most relevant, having almost quintupled and become one of the sectors with greater progress and influence on the growth of the country. Among the products most demanded by the People's Republic of China in recent years has been the Peruvian maca, which due to its remarkable properties has captured the attention of the Asian country who seeks to acquire it without skimping. In this context, a problem arose with the exports of maca, which still doesn't have a solution. For this reason, in the present investigation, an analysis of the evolution of exports of tariff heading 1106201, corresponding to Peruvian maca flour, to the People's Republic of China between 2013 and 2017 will be made, which decrease in their exported value as of 2015 after presenting a boom in sales to the Asian country a year earlier. For this purpose, different external forces that could have been the cause of this phenomenon will be analyzed.
