The present professional project to choose the title of Industrial Engineer, is going to design a proposal for improvement in the maintenance management system using the RCM in the process of production and spread of asphalt. The hypothesis highlights three specific objectives: First, the OEE must be increased by 2%. Second, increase the mean time between failures (MTBF) by 30% and finally we have to reduce the average time to repair (MTTR) by 40%. The professional project consists of five chapters. The first chapter refers to the theoretical framework as the basis for the development of this professional work, which addresses issues such as maintenance, main maintenance methodologies, tools for the development of the methodology and success cases in the application of the RCM, emphasizing in the RCM as a maintenance strategy. The second chapter explains the current situation and the problem of the process of production and spread of asphalt. In addition, the main objective and the specific objectives of this professional project are established. In the third chapter, the RCM methodology is developed by answering the 7 questions grouped into three different subgroups to make the process easier, in group one the equipment hierarchization was performed by calculating the reliability of the production equipment. Then, in group two, the FMEA was executed, where the functions, functional faults, failure modes and effects present in the critical equipment were established. In parallel, using the NPR analysis, the failure modes were hierarchized. In the third group and with the logical application of the logical decision tree, the type of maintenance and the frequency of the task were determined. In the fourth chapter the validation of the project was carried out using sand software. In the fifth and last chapter, the conclusions and recommendations that were reached with the present research project are presented.
