Social networks facilitate the communication of their users and the search for information, without problems of time and space. Twitter is a social network in which its users receive and share content linked to social events, daily activities or personal preferences. The opinion leaders are part of this community of users, who make public their criticisms and reflections on the different events of our social context. The objective of this paper is to establish the way in which opinion leaders construct their public image in their personal Twitter accounts, through their publications based on their thematic interests. Therefore, we compiled the tweets of five Peruvian opinion leaders, published from April 20 to June 28, 2018. This investigation consists of three parts: first, the theoretical bases are reviewed on, mainly, what is an opinion leader and what is the construction of the image on Twitter. Then, the methodological tool used to collect and organize the thematic interests of the opinion leaders is detailed. Finally, its thematic priorities are identified, described and compared, which concludes that the construction of the Twitter image of the opinion leaders is based on showing, through their publications, as experts and carriers of forceful arguments about a certain thematic focus.
