This research aims to analyze the maternal representations that the alcohol dependent have been built since the structuring of the bond with his mother figure. For this, a qualitative methodology to access and explore the mental representations of the sample was used. The data collection was carried out through an in-depth interview conducted rebound and administration of two sheets of the Thematic Apperception Test. For the respective analysis, the interviews were recorded and transcribed textually. The construction of maternal representations characterized by a mother figure provider, serving the basic needs of survival was found to be common patterns, but is not perceived emotionally available and has difficulty setting limits exercise in discipline management. As for the differential aspects, the perception of a mother figure met behaviors of abuse and neglect.
