For years, operations on the multimodal route to Iquitos take place in an environment of informality due to the precariousness of fluvial port infrastructure, unsafe working conditions during loading and unloading operations in ports, lack of standards to ensure compliance of the current regulations regarding occupational safety and health to which the stevedores and people who work in the port and vessels are exposed when carrying out these operations. This research work focuses on the multimodal process of attention to the orders of the customers of a mass consumption company in the city of Iquitos, which is run by land and river, as there are no land routes that interconnect it with the rest from the country. It is not considered to meet those needs by air because of the large volumes that are marketed and that would make management more expensive. The objective is to implement improvements in the operating process indicated in order to be more efficient, reduce operating costs and improve service to customers. The proposal includes changing the working method by executing palletized dispatches throughout the multimodal operating process, which reduces loading and unloading times, product losses and losses, and risks of accidents and product contamination.
