The present research studies the influence of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in the intention of permanence of the customer service workers of pizzas and pasta restaurants in the district of Miraflores in Lima, Peru. During the investigation, it was determined that the extrinsic motivation was the one that the workers perceived more, but at the same time, the intrinsic motivation played an important role in the intention of permanence, since when increasing in the collaborator, the greater was the determination to stay with their current job. To carry out this work, two measurement scales were used, the first Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale (WEIMS), proposed by Tremblay et al. (2009), measures the type of motivation of workers; while the second Turnover Intention Scale (TIS), proposed by Khan and Du (2014) measures the intention of permanence of these. Both instruments validated in previous studies, were originally developed in the English language for which it was decided to translate it into Spanish, maintaining the original essence of both surveys and making them easy for respondents to understand. The results obtained a significant relationship of r =, 221 between both types of motivation and intention of permanence of the surveyed, which indicated that 22.1% of the changes in the intention of permanence was due to the perception of the variation in the types of motivation at work.
