The main objective of the thesis is the development and implementation of the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS), with the OHSAS as a reference, in conjunction with the application of the 5s methodology, with the aim of reducing the number of accidents within the organization under study and the decrease in medical care expenses due to these accidents and the projection of this savings for investment in occupational health and safety (OHS). In the first chapter the theoretical framework is developed to find the basic definitions in OSH and their application in all the work to be developed. In the second chapter, the description of the company is developed in relation to the sector in which it works, determination of the problem and its economic impact due to accidents at work and finally an analysis of the main causes among other points. In the third chapter, the proposal for the implementation of the safety and health at work management system is developed. Later, in the fourth chapter the implementation is validated analyzing the results of this and its social and economic impact, which is visualized in the fifth chapter. Finally, the positive validation of the implementation of the SGSST is given determining the conclusions and recommendations on the work developed.
