The aim of this investigation was to study the relationship between job stress and organizational culture. To meet the objective of the research, we applied two instruments: the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (Cameron & Quinn, 2006) and the Work Stress Scale Organizational ILO-WHO (Medina, Preciado y Pando, 2007). Both questionnaires were administered in a group of workers of various utilities. The validity and reliability of the instruments was studied through various factor analyzes and by calculating the internal consistency of the scales. We found that adhocratic culture positively correlated with work stress. No other significant correlations were found between these variables. It is argued that adhocratic culture is a very dynamic culture, where changes are permanent and is characterized by an environment in which people constantly take risks.
