Objective: Determine associated factors to reading decision of food labeling to buy food focus in consumers of Lima – Perú, 2015. Methods: Qualitative, observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was realized in packaged food consumers of Lima - Perú. Respondents were bigger than 18 years old and able to read and write. A survey was validated by experts and was conducted via online. The association was found using Chi2 test and determine significance level (p). We analized the research using Spss v.22 software. Results: 393 consumers were recruited for the research, 80,9% (n=318) read the packaged label food. In relation of the association of assosiated factors between consumers who reads the labels, 74,4% (n=56) were 18-29 aged with Chi2: 9,078 and p= 0.003, showing significative association, 71.4% (n=227) were female with Chi2: 13,620 and p= 0.001 , showing significative association. In relation of the nutritional label food, 96% (n=304) read it. By last, in relation of the consumers that not read the food labels (19,1%), 36% (n=27) do not have time and 32% (n=24%) do not understand what must read. Conclusions: Associated factors like female and aged (p<0.05) were related to the read of packaged food labeling focus in consumers of Lima department.
