Objective : To evaluate the changes in serum albumin and C- reactive protein in blood and its relation with the morbimortality risk, in adult males recently hospitalized. Material and method: Not experimental, transverse, observacional study was realized, it included 91 patient males older than 18 years hospitalized to whom clinical evaluation, score Apache ll, measurement of the levels of serum albumin in blood and C reactive protein, as well as, determination of the relation C reactive protein and serum albumin, was realized to them during the first 72 hours of the hospitalization. Results: Age was 62.2 :l: 18.49; 62.57% were hospitalized between 10 to 30 days; 95% was found more than two patology ; arterial hypertension and chronic renal failure was found in 46 (50.5 5%), it was noted hypoalbuminemia in 68 (74.73%), the average was 3,005 i 0.7822; rising of the C reactive protein in 85 ( 93.41%) being the value of 7.863 :t 7.511 . An association was found between hypo albuminemja and the use of invasive procedures p < 0.0469; between the values of albumin and the APACHE 11 score, there was a negative correlation (1=-0.12); in the Correlation PCR/albumin and APACHE II score was observed a slight positive association (r=0.0l) . There were 22 deaths. Conclusions: Increase takes place in the C reactive protein in blood , decrease in the levels of serum albumin and increase of the PCR/ALBUMIN relation during the first 72 hours of initiated the illness in most of patient males hospitalized with a Apache II score major or equal to 10, as regards the morbimortality.
