The thesis “Perceptions and sociocultural changes generated by the Andean migration in the district of Shamboyacu - province of Picota - San Martin region - 2017“. Its objective was to know and describe the perceptions, social and cultural changes generated by the migration of Andean settlers to the Amazonian territory. The focus was on ethnicity, which allows us to understand the relationships between actors from different cultures. The methodology has been of a qualitative-ethnographic nature, very important for the permanence in the study area and adequate information collection; the techniques were used, such as: semi-structured interviews and direct observation, which were applied without any inconvenience in climates of trust with native settlers and Andean migrants. The social changes generated by migration are related to the organization, representation, participation, relations of coexistence and internal conflict; likewise, cultural changes are related to parties, customs, music and dances. The research was carried out in a dynamic, historical and experiential scenario. The results indicate that the Andean migration in Shamboyacu has generated changes in the organizational structure, in the cultural patterns; likewise, the relations between natives and Andeans are harmonious, since spaces of dialogue prevail among the members of the families.
