The objective was to characterize intercommunity relations and identity ethnic processes within the framework of the ownership of indigenous and rural communities in two districts of the province of Requena in Loreto. A total of 97 families from 04 communities (Wicungo, Morales Bermúdez, Palmera del Tapiche and Canchalagua) were randomly selected. Semi-structured surveys and genealogical cards were applied to the 97 families and 31 key actors (leader and old residents). Data was analyzed through social networks. Indigenous and rural communities are linked by the form of foundation and settlement at historical level. Communities are in a kinship network in which rural communities are strongly linked by different degrees of closeness. However, the indigenous communities are not linked each other but have as intermediaries the rural community’s families.
