The present research that is titled ISOLATION OF KAEMPHEROL OF Uncaria guianensis (Aubl) Gmell BY WATER STEAM TRAILER is oriented to the extraction of kaempherol from the bark of Uncaria guianensis (Aubl) Gmell (cat's claw) using the method of water steam trailer based on the proper use of 3 thermodynamic variables: Pressure, volume, temperature and the difference of solubilities of the components of the raw material. The purpose of the work was to obtain high purity kaempherol free of contaminants. During the process, a 20-liter kettle with a cylindrical geometry and a spherical cap was used as an extractor, 80% of its capacity (16 L) was filled with 761 g of wood chips and 14 L of water to provide an empty surface of water vapor expansion (4L). We worked with an effective temperature of 100 ° C. The time required for the extraction of Kaempherol was approximately 4 hours, after the extraction the impurities were purified with activated carbon, until obtaining yellow crystals, to which its physicochemical properties were determined: melting point, Rf x 100 in TLC, Molecular Weight and solubility, and by UV spectrometry their wavelengths to compare them with the values found in the literature. (fifteen) The UV-Visible spectrometry test was carried out in a SHIMADZU unit, obtaining 2 following wavelengths: 265.5 and 367 nm, these values compared with the values of the literature fully coincide with those assigned to kaempherol. (fifteen) As a result of the research it can be concluded that the isolation of kaempherol by steam trawling is completely feasible and would allow the pharmaceutical industry to produce high purity kaempherol for the production of medicines that will benefit the country due to its anti-oxidant activity and because produces in the country.
