The present research was carried out in the Indañe Village Centre, located in the District and Province of Moyobamba, Department of San Martín. Its general objective was to evaluate the application of environmental education in changing attitudes towards the management of solid waste in the Indañe settlement. A questionnaire instrument was used (pre-test and post-test), with 19 items, classified according to attitude components (cognitive, behavioural and affective), using the Likert scale, which was applied to a sample of 49 people. To analyse the level of attitudes towards solid waste management that the inhabitants had before the application of environmental education, a pre-test questionnaire was used, then environmental education was applied through 05 workshops, using a theoretical-practical methodology, and finally a pre-test was carried out to analyse the level of influence of environmental education on the development of a change in attitudes towards solid waste management. The result obtained was that the application of environmental education generated significant positive changes in the attitudes of the inhabitants of the village of Indañe - Moyobamba, regarding the management of solid waste, since it is observed that in the pre-test, more than 60% of the inhabitants had a fair level, which was improved through the environmental education that was given. Similarly, the Wilcoxon sign hypothesis test statistically demonstrates that environmental education has a significant effect on the level of attitudes of the inhabitants of Indañe in terms of solid waste management.
