With the start of the analog blackout decreed by the Peruvian government as of the fourth quarter of 2020, many television service operators stopped transmitting analog signals in cities in the interior of the country. Currently, the television signal transmission is provided in digital format, using multicast IP, which are received through multicast switches located in remote hubs in cities in the interior of the country. Additionally, a FTTH network infrastructure has been installed in order to distribute said signal to end users. Since television signals are currently transmitted in digital format to remote hubs in cities in the interior of the country, a mini-headend is required to convert the multicast IP television signal into optical signals for later distribution to the network. of FTTH access and a centralized monitoring solution, to ensure the availability and quality of the digital television service provided to the cities in the interior of the country. The design process and technical specifications of the telecommunications equipment required for a future implementation are detailed.
