The emergence of low-cost airlines (LCC) in Latin America has been a key catalyst for the development of the airline industry in the last decade, with considerable effects on the sector's competitiveness and relevant macroeconomic indicators. In this context, the research aims to determine the effects of the entry of low-cost airlines into the Peruvian air transport market on air transport prices for the period 2012-2021. The research has a descriptive- correlational scope, the research design is non-experimental with time series data. The main research technique used is documentary analysis, the data collection instrument is the extraction of data from CORPAC S.A. information sources. The results of the research suggest that the entry of low-cost airlines reduced transport prices by 19.38 points in the air transport price index for domestic flight entries and by 19.46 points in the air transport price index for domestic flight departures. domestic flights. Likewise, in addition to this direct effect, it is found that the magnitude of the anticipation effects explains 53% of the total change in the transport prices of the Peruvian aviation market, reducing transport prices by 21.64 points for domestic flight tickets and by 21.57. points for domestic flight departures.
