The present qualitative-ethnographic research proposes to collect the oral testimonies of musicians and traditional characters of the Caurinos dance of the Chinchao-Acomayo district, in order to preserve the identity of the inhabitants and learn about the festival. The field study was carried out in the town of Acomayo district of Chinchao. Methodology For data collection, the indirect observation technique and the semistructured interview were used, with the collaboration and support of five community members. The sample universe was made up of former authorities, musicians, dancers, and observers of the place according to the socio-structural criterion. As a result of this research work, we obtained information about the sequence of the Caurinos dance festivities, and it was also possible to describe the costumes, the roles of each character. Five melodies and four songs were compiled with which the dance path is accompanied, in the same way we deciphered the possible origins of this artistic manifestation. The research concludes by mentioning that the Cauririnos dance of the ChinchaAcomayo district is a unique festival in the region, it is also a cultural expression where the dancers and spectators contribute by their faith, appreciation and joy before this ancestral tradition developing in its path a series of activities consecutively for five days of holidays.
