This research seeks to find an index of malocclusions which by definition is the third most prevalent in the system after dental decay and periodontal disease modification and in recent years has become increasingly important for their aesthetic implications. We know that harmony and occlusion in people is a very important for your oral and overall health parameter, since it is related to basic physiological components for daily living, relationships and communication, and the chewing and swallowing food and speech. Any change in the position and distribution of the teeth may lead to a dysfunction in any of these processes as well as in both physical and psychological human being. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of malocclusions than 400 children between 6 and 12 years old, which were analyzed with the index of the American Association of Orthodontists (AIO), which by amending served analysis to determine this dysfunction, the sample was determined by the entire population, and it was simple random type, which underwent clinical observation of the different items of the index, reaching the following results: A prevalence of malocclusions 93.3% within which was the most prevalent dental origin with 56.5% among the most prevalent factors could be detected traumatic factors with 33.3% and 46.3% with dental crowding.Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of malocclusion in the sample studied.
