ELECTROPERU S.A. Co. is in charge of generating energy and, therefore, supplying the demand for electricity to a large part of the national territory. For the development of its main activity, it has operational hydraulic structures. For this reason, there is a plan of maintenance activities for its structures, where the main one is the purge process of its reservoir due to the accumulation of sediments which occurs naturally and reduces the useful storage capacity for the resource. In the present assignment, the evaluation of the results of the purge process for the years 2017 and 2018 was carried out. By the year 2017, the process was carried out in a conventional way and without rain forecast, while in 2018, the rain forecast was taken into account, obtaining a greater recovery of storage capacity compared to 2017. Finally, when evaluating the results of the process carried out in 2018, greater efficiency was found compared to the process of 2017, since the rain forecast allowed the flows to be maintained during the days of the programming, the purge annual program and, therefore, a greater recovery of the useful volume of the reservoir will be achieved. During this year, a useful volume of 5,9 MMC was recovered, while in 2017 only 5,32 MMC. Likewise, the performance of the company is not only reflected in the generation of energy, but also reducing the sediments in the reservoir provide less probability that these can reach the turbines, causing damage and shortening their useful life.
