The main objective of this research was to describe knowledge management process in PROGANADERO project and to establish its importance as success factor for innovation and agricultural development. Projects that take place in Peruvian highlands must face different situations during the operation. Most of the time, operating teams have to design solutions to adequate the project to the needs of the context, without changing the essence, the purpose and the buts, to achieve in a determined time and in a particular location. Because of these changing situations, a process of knowledge management during the project’s operation, help the teams and the organization, to think and choose the right strategies to achieve successfully. These strategies are based in knowledge and are applicated during the implementation of the project. Process of monitoring and periodic evaluations in projects can be considered as part of the process of knowledge management. Nevertheless, its principal task is not to create knowledge. For that, it is necessary to use another tool which is systematization of experiences, that usually takes place at the end of a project, to extract and keep knowledges for future projects. However, these knowledges are hardly incorporated in next projects, that is why it is necessary to systematize constantly during the operation, as it was done in PROGANADERO project, where the results of monitoring and evaluation process were used as input of the knowledge management process. The importance lies in the fact the knowledge management during project execution provides internal and external information, from inside of the organization and from the context and external people involved, that helps to improve knowledge that will be used during the project to obtain the best results and consolidate innovations.
