The objective of this work was to guarantee safety, improve quality and give added value to the cultivation of corn in the Lurín Valley, through the application of good agricultural practices (GAP), using farmer field schools as a training methodology (RCTs). The implementation of the field school was in charge of the National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), under the project called “Producers graduated in good agricultural practices through field schools.“ During the development of the school, the methodological approach of Field Schools was used, a participatory methodology in non-formal adult education, oriented to the adult learning cycle. During the development, work schedules were made to be able to carry out periodic meetings, and activities in the field, throughout the training process the participation of farmers was emphasized horizontally and promoting inter-learning, so that all this contributes to the construction of knowledge, empowerment of the farmer and making good decisions. The farmers worked collectively and individually in the analysis of situations and problems. As part of this training process, the so-called “learning plot“ was used where the programmed activities for the inter-learning of the members of the school in the cultivation of corn were carried out. The activities carried out during the professional development in the implementation of the field school had as results; guarantee the safety of corn cultivation with new tools and the application of goodagricultural practices on the property of each one of them. This gave an added value to the product, resulting in better opportunities in the market, likewise, it contributed to the improvement of the quality of life of the locals.
