In Peru, the generation and release of technology in agriculture is too long, in these situations it is convenient to apply participatory research methods to know the factors that do not allow farmers to use the agronomic technologies that are generated. The present investigation and extension work was carried out in the fields of the La Molina Experimental Center of the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA), and validated in the fields of the farmers participating in the communities: La Huaca -Huaral, Patao - Barranca and Cascajal - Chimbote. Three levels of nitrogen and two levels of organic compost (Compost) were evaluated in the experimental yellow hybrid maize crop “Experimental 5“ in the first season, and in the second season the residual effect was evaluated. The modular course was also conducted during the agricultural campaign with the participation of farmers. In the validation of the demonstration experiment carried out in farmers' fields, the treatment of the best response found in the INIA fields was evaluated against the treatment of the conventional system used by farmers The experimental design used in the INIA field was the design of divided plots where the levels of organic manure (10 t ha-1 with compost and without compost) are part of the plot and nitrogen levels (0, 120 and 240 Kg ha-1) of the subplot. Regarding the evaluation of farmers 'participation and validation in farmers' fields, the test of difference of means was used. The results obtained in the INIA fields in the first and second campaigns presented significant differences for the interaction of (C * N). Yields in farmers' fields showed highly significant differences between the treatment that was the best in INIA fields versus the treatment used by farmers. In the first season, the combination of the use of compost (10 t ha-1) with N1 (120 kg ha-1 N) and with (0 kg ha-1 N) yielded higher yield responses averaging 9.46 And 11.18 t ha-1. In the second campaign, where the residual effect was evaluated, the compost combination with N1 (120 kg ha-1 N) and no compost with N0 (0 kg ha-1 N) and N2 (240 kg ha-1) Yielding average yields of 3.377; 2,683 and 3,205 t ha-1. In the farmers' fields where the experiment was validated, it was determined that the treatment that responded better in the INIA fields presented better responses than the control treatment, obtaining average yields of 12, 564 t ha-1 (Huaca), 9,267 t Ha-1 (Cascajal), 11,664 t ha-1 (Potao). The participants' learning presented highly significant differences between the evaluation before and after the modular course (three courses during the campaign). The learning of the participants showed improvement in relation to the evaluation performed before each course, obtaining average marks of 12.71; 17 and 15.29. The marginal analysis indicated that the greatest benefits were achieved in the community of Potao- Barranca, obtaining benefits of S /. 2,546.25 per hectare.
