The objective of the present study was characterized by the cattle production system in the districts of Nueve de Julio (Province of Jauja, department of Junín) and the district Tintay Puncu (Province of Tayacaja, department of Huancavelica). Limiting factors between these two districts belong to the Quechua region of Peru, but at the same time several geographical or natural regions differentiated, the first belongs to an inter-Andean valley and the second is typical of a high forest with different climatic conditions between them. The study with the participation of 62 producers of the district of Nueve de Julio and 52 of the district of Tintay Puncu. Surveys were conducted by the head of the family or in charge of the farm. Data were analyzed using the SPSS Statistics Base v22.0 program. The results show that the neighborhood of Nueve de Julio has a family average of 4.4 members, the educational level is in accordance with the age, the average number of cows is 6.2 per producer, predominantly Brown Swiss in 82.7%, 19.2 The% of the producers handles the animals by categories, 23% of the products carry the record of the management of the animals, the feed is a base cultivated pastures and 84.6% concentrate of the USA. Daily milk production varies from 5 to 10 liters/day, labor is familiar and family income comes from the sale of milk. In contrast, in the district of Tintay Puncu, the family average is 6.4 people, the illiteracy rate is 5%, on average the products have 4.8 cows of which 95.2% are children. They do not keep track of their animals and the feed is at the base of a natural pasture, the maximum production per cow is 5 liters and is used by the family, the economic income from the sale of animals. The condition of the two districts is of minifundio with the technological level and the productive indexes, being more critical in the district of Tintay Puncu. It is recommended to promote associative mechanism through extension systems for the development of these breakdowns in agriculture and livestock.
