The objective of this research was to assess how dependent the country of importation of yellow corn seed, and what are their impacts on the performance and profitability of the producers of this crop in the province of Barranca, Lima Region. The hypothesis that the use of seed imported yellow corn improves the profitability of producers in Barranca was handled. To evaluate a controlled experiment whose population is the set of productive units in Barranca yellow corn using imported seed producers compared to the Province of Lambayeque, Lambayeque Region that does not use this seed imported but have similar technological characteristics was performed and climate. The method of stochastic or Monte Carlo simulation is used. In terms of profitability, it was found that the use of seed imported yellow corn has a higher yield and net income which is reflected in a greater number of positive scenarios in Barranca (83.4 percent) compared to Lambayeque (26.8 percent) . Farmers in Lambayeque are skewed to the left with a greater amount of negative scenarios (73.2 percent) than in scenarios where negative Canyon reach only (16.6 percent). In terms of participation, the value of yellow corn seed to the value of production barely reaches 4.48 percent, indicating that even doubling the price of imported seed (imported seed costs), participation relative value of imported seed production would be less than 9 percent.
