Achieve the efficient use of water requires a meticulous measurement process of its flow rates on the different stages of a conduction and distribution system, the result of measurement determines the available quantity of this resource, which offered the opportunity to propose effective ways in the use of water, in this sense, in view of the multiple results that can be obtained under the use of a hydraulic model applied in networks, it was determined that the use of certain measuring instruments allowed to reach the most exact hydraulic variables in water monitoring. In the present research an ultrasonic flowmeter has been calibrated for water supply systems for irrigation purposes, turning it into a reliable, non-invasive and easy-to-install technological measurement alternative, achieving a considerable improvement in the management and the control of water losses in these water supply systems. The investigation was divided into three phases; The first stage consisted in the calibration of “Ultrasonic Flowmeter (UF)” through the installation of a test tank, where it was determined that the UF’s calibration factor was 1.09 for the specific project conditions, also it was necessary to obtain the flow calibration for the San Ramón water channel; Also, here the necessary water level was established, which guarantees the entry of 280 liters per second for supply of “Subtroncal 3”. The second stage consisted of performing the hydraulic calculations using a hydraulic model in Watercad, whose results were considered as a basis for the monitoring of the flow rates in the field, using the calibrated UF, this last one activity is the third stage. Finally, the results of the monitoring determine that the use of the calibrated UF represents the hydraulic network flow, which is used in activities related to the monitoring and control
