It describes the characteristics of the Rainforest Alliance certification program as a sustainable agriculture certification system in farms on the north coast of Peru dedicated to the production of avocado and mango for export. The Rainforest Alliance certification system includes social, agronomic, environmental and shared responsibility issues. The evaluation of each topic that makes up the certification program is linked to the laws and regulations of the country. The author of this monograph, through his experience in audits carried out on mango and avocado exporters on the north coast, under the aforementioned certification program, describes the situation of the farms before obtaining certification and the benefits of creating a system management that works with the objective of accessing the certification program, such as: Contributing to sustainable agriculture, encouraging knowledge and application of national legal regulations, recognition through differentiated payments for certification, social welfare by complying with legislation applicable.
