The present study aimed to determine the possible causes that caused the activation of the Quebrada del Diablo and model the hydrological phenomenon that occurred on February 21, 2020 using the SOCONT model that belongs to one of the classes of models of the RS MINERVE software, for which the basin is delimited in 05 sub-basins with their respective geomorphological characteristics, soil type, infiltration capacity in the ravine and collection of meteorological information near the study area. So, the rainfall in the Quebrada del Diablo was estimated from the comparison of daily rainfall data recorded in the Jorge Basadre station and the hourly rainfall of the FIAG automatic station (Faculty of Civil Engineering Geotechnics and Architecture) of the UNJBG (Jorge Basadre National University of Grohmann) located in the city of Tacna since there is no record of meteorological information in the Quebrada del Diablo. The analysis of the correlation of satellite products with the Jorge Basadre station was also carried out, in order to highlight that the percentage of precipitation fall in the upper and lower Quebrada del Diablo is lower than the precipitation fall in the city of Tacna. Then, the flow of income in the middle part of the Quebrada was determined from the water footprint resulting from the flood, this data was used for the calibration of the SOCONT model. Finally, the hydrological simulation of the Quebrada was carried out using the hydrological objects, for the construction of the event that occurred on February 21, 2020 in the Quebrada del Diablo.
