The objective of this research was to evaluate the quality of the postlarvae (PL) of Macrobrachium rosenbergii prawn produced in two commercial hatcheries: Las Palmas - Tarapoto and Aqua Prawn - Lima; by applying two stress test protocols, formalin exposure (600 mg/L per 1 hour) and ammonium exposure (30 mg NAT/L per 24 hours). The experimentation was carried out in two locations, one was the Las Palmas Hatherie (E1) and the other, the Aquaculture Laboratory of the Universidad Nacional Agraria la Molina (E2). Stress test were performed in a static system with temperature and oxygen control in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 10 replications. pH, temperature and NAT were measured as required. Circular swimming, sinking, temporary paralysis, tail contraction and white coloration as behavior responses were observed during the tests. Only tail contraction was measured as well as survival rates. 69 percent and 62 percent mean of survival was recorded for ammonia exposure per 24 hours, for E1 and E2 respectively. Likewise, 71 percent and 61 percent mean of survival was recorded for formalin exposure per 1 hour, for E1 and E2 respectively. In all cases was demonstrated, a good postlarval quality (Survival percentage> 60 percent). No significant differences (p> 0.05) were found between the number of PLs that showed tail contraction, nor in the median and the variance of the survival percentage after exposure to formalin and ammonium.
