The Poechos reservoir, a key part of the development of the Piura Region in northern Peru, is having serious problems in meeting water demands, as it has lost storage capacity due to accumulation of sediment ahead of schedule. Faced with this problem, one of the alternatives would be to raise the crown of the dam, however, this would cause flooding of villages, crops and infrastructure in Ecuadorian territory. Thus, the main objective of the present study was to quantify socio-economic impacts in the Zapotillo-Ecuador parish that would be generated by a flood due to a given increase in the Poechos-Peru dam, for which geospatial analysis and modeling was used in platform. The geospatial database of the parish and reservoir was designed and built; then the physical and socioeconomic units of the Zapotillo parish were valued according to their degree of vulnerability to floods, and then integrated into submodels. Likewise, weighting factors were applied considering the incidence of each variable in the corresponding area. In the geospatial flood modeling, the water mirrors were delimited for each level of operation of the reservoir, which allowed the integration and geospatial analysis to identify and quantify the areas, settlements, plots and infrastructure of the Zapotillo parish with flood risk, as well as generate flood risk maps. The study reflected that there would be four possible flood scenarios, that is, in the quotas: 114,33; 116,33; 116,83 and 118,83 m.s.n.m. The total costs of the damages would amount to a US$ 34 122,70; 824 253,00; 1 677 964,50 and 8 311 154,00 for each quota, respectively
