This study aims to evaluate the community variables of 3 taxa (herbaceous, birds and beetles) under the effect of the El Niño event, in Lachay National Reserve, between the period of 1998-2001 and 2010. Data recorded in the field were used between 1998-2001 and 2010 in 31 plots with levels of anthropogenic disturbance (12B, 8M, 11A), 15 samplings for birds, plants, and 19 samplings for beetles because the 2002 data are incorporated. It was estimated the composition, abundance, richness, equity, diversity and functional groups and only herbaceous coverage, density, IVI, density alpha diversity and alpha IVI, density gamma diversity and gamma IVIg and Cinv. Nine new herbaceous species and 7 morphospecies beetles were recorded in 2010. Most of the variables evaluated showed a high variability apparently by the high variability of abiotic factors such as precipitation influenced by ENSO and the anticyclone of the South Pacific, to monitor proposed variables Cinv Abundance, Cinv Coverage, Cinv IVI considering whether they are native or endemic, it is rise after an ENSO can be seen suggesting that the ENSOs are activators of the historical memory of the Lomas ecosystems. Also the abundance and richness of beetles, alpha diversity and the richness of birds. Functional groups the percentage of abundance of chamaephytes, nanophanerophytes, the abundance of predatory and saprofago groups. Some proposed key species are Solanum montanum, Stenomesson coccineum, Croton ruizianus, Trixis cacalioides, Crassula connata, Urocarpidium peruvianum and Nicotiana paniculata, the latter play the role of atmospheric water capture and as a key variable IVIg, some variables are more related to detect drought conditions.
