The present investigation was intended to reduce the amount of splited fruits per tree by applying a synthetic auxin (2,4-D), gibberellic acid (AG3) and a foliar fertilizer, potassium nitrite (KNO3). The applyments were done 23 and/or 65 days after the end of physiological fruit drop (dapfd). The experiment was done in the country state of San Antonio placed in Vista Alegre district, city of Nazca, Ica province, Peru. The set 19 was chosen which counts with 606 trees/ha of tangors of the var. H. Murcott installed over the 5-year-old rootstock of cv. Citrumelo. The results demonstrate that pulverizations of 2,4-D y AG3 in any dose, applied at 23 and/or 65 (dapfd) achieve the reduction in the proportion of splited fruits. Respecting of fruit diameter, the highest dose of 2,4-D (30ppm) and AG3 (20ppm) made a significative increase. It should be noted for this variable the treatments receiving applyments 23 and 65 dapfd present a reduction on the diameter growth of the fruit. Treatments did not affect the internal characteristics of the fruit: percentage of juice, brix, acidity and maturity index. However, these had a major effect in the final weight. The cost benefit analysis allows us to affirm that any of the treatments in which 2,4-D and AG were used is economically more profitable.
