The research was carried out in the facilities of the Laboratory for Research in Nutrition and Feeding of Fish and Crustaceans (LINAPC) of the academic department of Nutrition of the Faculty of Zootechnics of the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM), the elaboration of the food in the Plant of Balanced Foods of the Faculty of Zootechnics of the UNALM. The objective of the study was to determine the apparent digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, lipids, ash, nitrogen-free extract and the digestible energy of fishmeal for Redtail Shad (Brycon erythropterum) by determining the apparent digestibility coefficient. (CDA) using the indirect method. Twenty-four red-tailed shad juveniles were used, with an initial weight of 120 ± 4.37 grams and an initial size of 16.43 ± 0.16 cm., Distributed in six Guelph-type digestibility aquariums, with four fish each. The duration of the experimental phase was 30 days, between August and September 2016, during which daily stool collections were made. The apparent digestibility coefficient obtained on a dry basis for the fishmeal in juveniles of Redtail Shad (Brycon erythropterum) was 76.41 ± 0.32 percent for dry matter, 90.81 ± 0.49 for protein, 95.65 ± 4.84 for lipids, 67.42 ± 2.20 for ash, 37.01 ± 11.94 percent for nitrogen-free extract and 78.90 ± 0.03 for crude energy. The digestible energy (DE) of the fishmeal in Redtail Shad was 4.11 Mcal / kg on a dry basis and 3.87 Mcal / Kg on a fresh basis (94.25% of dry matter).
