The phenology of purple corn was determined by the number of days after sowing time (das) and according to the plant development stages; where the vegetative development stages initiated with the emergence at 7 das, two deployed leaves (V2) at 9 das, (V4) at 22 das, (V6) at 43 das, (V8) at 62 das, (V10) at 79das, (V12) at 84 das, (V14) at 89 das, (V16) at 93 das and the male flowering (VT) at 96 das; and the reproductive development state started with the female flowering (R1) at 102 das, state of pearlite grain (R2) at 116 das, state of milky grain (R3) at 129 das, mass grain or doughy (R4) at 136 das, serrated grain (R5) at 150 das and physiological maturity (R6) at 197 das. The color intensity in cobs of purple corn was evaluated in different stages of reproductive development, beginning with serrated grain until harvest maturity or dried in the same plant in the cob; T1 (harvest at the state of serrated grain) showed the best average of 59.250 points value color and was statistically similar to treatment T2 (harvest at physiological maturity) of 56.250 points value color, T4 (harvest 10 days after physiological maturity) of 50.750 points value color, T5 (harvest 15 days after physiological maturity) of 48.250 points value color respectively. Regarding cob weight the T7 (harvest 25 days after physiological maturity) together with T4 (harvest 10 days after physiological maturity) had the largest weight in cobs, bath with 16.3 g
